Heyya folks, for those of you who are participating in NGGCC Round 3, you all may have come to some very sour conclusions about the state of communication within the competition as of current. Fret not though, it's nary a fault of yours or anyone else's.
The loose guidelines that Lakie set-up for this round, was, well, bound to cause an immense amount of leniency that would've otherwise turned this Genre-contest into more a "Theming" Contest, since, well, the genre wasn't being embodied more than the theme of... whatever people thought Breakcore was.
And, well, that's precisely the issue. NGGCC, is a Genre Contest, and Breakcore, is a very stringent genre, that most people do not know how to deal with its complexities, and have had various mis-aligned conceptions of. Breakcore embodies a very specific movement of sounds, that, because of the turn of the new decade, has been muddied and made very undefined. Now, again, none of you can be blamed for this. Things like this happen to Genres all the time whenever they blow up in popularity; their definitions get watered down, and the guidelines to make them in the eyes of the public becomes supremely loose.
Lakie's guidelines for this week had only reinforced that fact, so...
Worst-case scenario: Every single track would be immensely different from one another, embodying all sorts of different philosophies and styles, so far from the original genre, that the whole of this week would've been derailed with music that is unrecognizable to the original spirit of what was aimed for.
Again, I apologize for the Uproar. As the person to point this out to Lakie, I myself was assigned to make this correction as soon as possible so that this week could keep its firm sense of coherence. I have been levying critiques against numerous tracks, those of whom, again, I can't blame you folks for working off Loose Guidelines. Now though, we have plenty of time to overhaul your original ideas into what should be, proper breakcore tracks.
So, forgive me for the mini-judging and reviews all across your posts, but, Lakie decided it was necessary for this round to get things straightened out, as I was brought unto the reviewing team for this round in specific.
Three good videos to get you started on the topic though:
ForestWhitakerTulpa's "The Complete History of Breakcore [1990-2022]"
Ruminate's "What Happened To Breakcore?"
Coolea's "Breakcore Has Changed (Or Has It?)"
Breakcore tracks should be around 180-250 BPM. Way faster than typical DnB
Each of these tracks also embodies a common/core element between them
1. Lots of complex chopping of drum breaks
2. Intense noise elements
3. Very raw mixing/unfiltered and distorted
4. Very extremely fast paced beats
5. Glitchy elements to every part of the track which throw the listener off
6. Non-Linear Musical structures
I have examples going over it's history within this discussion thread, Including on-site examples of what the genre should sound like. But if you don't want to go over the whole foundations of what makes breakcore, allow me to just paste the few tracks I've been showing around as exemplary.

Self-explanatory title. I was supposed to be working on an ambient track for NGGCC Round 2, but because I was on vacation this whole week I had nary the time to even make such a thing. Just now I had gotten back from the resort & can finally work on the music I've been meaning to do

I'm most likely going to be reposting stuff from my other socials unto here. Stuff I've already released elsewhere, well, at least in terms of that I have access to it. I'll hafta find what I could potentially put up here to begin with.
Some of my stuff is up on bandcamp if you'd like to support!
